Web-Based Community of Practice (CoP)

The CoP, which was elaborated in course of the PROMINENT project, provides adaptable and up-to-date learning materials. A set of four basic modules on the following topics covers the basic knowledge and understanding about Inland Waterway Transport:

• Use and comparison of transport modes
• Economic geography and infrastructure of waterways
• Multimodal transport
• Innovative transport concepts and green logistics

Students can apply their knowledge and skills in course of three different case studies
which were elaborated in close cooperation with companies, facing the challenge of
integrating inland waterway transport in the logistics chain. A module for trainers is also
provided, describing the main content of the platform and the possible integration in
lectures.
In addition, international students, lecturers and stakeholders from the industry can
exchange their knowledge and experiences when working on the basic modules or the case
studies, using a Blog. To access the blog you just have to register on the InesDanube
