REWWay stands for Research and Education in Inland Waterway Logistics and is based on a long-standing cooperation between the Logistikum of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria and the Austrian waterway company viadonau.

REWWay strengthens knowledge and awareness of inland waterways as forward-looking components of sustainable transport systems.
We promote research, education, and networking along the Danube – with openly accessible teaching materials, practice-oriented learning opportunities, and collaborations between academia, industry, and practitioners.

Our goal: to integrate inland waterway transport as environmentally friendly mode of transport into holistic, sustainable transport and logistics solutions and to highlight their potential in education, practice, and strategic planning.

At the inland waterway logistics competence center REWWay, we drive innovation for the sustainable logistics of tomorrow. As part of the Logistikum at the FH OÖ Faculty of Management in Steyr – and thus embedded in the research and development landscape of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria – we operate within a strong scientific network that develops practice‑oriented solutions for the transport sector.

Our research projects are carried out in close cooperation with national and European partners and are supported by funding programs such as FFG, HORIZON, and Erasmus+.

Companies also benefit from our expertise: through tailor‑made contract research projects, we develop individual, actionable solutions for concrete logistical challenges.
